working with flickr tags

Well I am about to build the 2004 archive for the website www.kupenga.co.nz

All the 200+ files are on flickr so, I'm going to build a design, like the 2006 model.

First I will grab the photo's of all the artists that joined 2004 by tag searching for my pictures taged with my tags "2006" and "photo"

http://www.flickr.com/photos/te_kupenga/tags/2004+photo/

next I will get a page for each artist buy using the tag for the artist's name. i.e.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/te_kupenga/tags/2004+brettcooper/

I save these pages to my computer,
so I can rip out the links that I need to build the page.
I host the flickr generated thumbnail's with my webhost.

I need a tag to represent if an image by an artist is a kupenga made work or a work made post symposium. I have the post tag, but I don't think it works well over the past years works, it was to stand for, post to 2006, which is what I needed. I might change this to "outside" as in outside the kupenga. I am using the tags gen94, gen96, gen98, gen00, gen02, gen04, gen06, to show works that where made at the kupenga. setup like this, i wonder if I have another tag for it.

A 100 tags to assign names too.

more flickr stuff

This is a report on how I am using Flickr to build the website
www.kupenga.co.nz which is the frontend to flickr.

The use of flickr is to database the images of the kupenga stone symposium.

I use the flickr tag system on the kupenga images. I can then search these tags to build my page content.

For example, entering a tag search for kupenga "Filipe Tohi"

http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/tags:kupenga%2CFilipe+Tohi/tagmode:all/

returns a page of all of Filipe Tohi's images relating to kupenga.
A wonderful thing on this page is a link to

view as a slideshow.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/tags:kupenga+FilipeTohi/tagmode:all/show/

Note the slideshow needed to be modified, to work.

With the use of a date tag on images, in the format of day-month-year , I will be able to generate day by day slideshows.

That's if I get time from cutting my rock.

Website up and refineing my tag selection system.

I have got the website www.kupenga.co.nz up and it is looking sexie in it's mini design.

I am wondering, do I need to construct an infomation page on how flickr goes? to easy

I'm also looking at different layouts of infomation of the artist's, but want to keep it all very simple.

So I need to add and use these image tags.

all images in kupenga contain the tag kupenga to represent that it is in the kupenga forum.
all images conatin the artist's name. (unless it's a gui, location, map image)

Other tags that can be used.
Artist's:

- kiwi
- international
- date 01-01-06 ..this it to log the dayle recording.
- photo
- post
- sculpture

I also want to add more tags to the individual artists, to record what town and area they are from.

If I get asked to make a profile, I will include a link to google.

Also the website www.kupenga.co.nz, needs metatags written too help feed the search engin robots.
